Karen was one of my closest friends and next door neighbor. I miss her and think about her from time to time. She was always smiling and had a giggle for everyone. I know some day that we will meet again and I get to see that smile.

Karen was such a fun friend to have....we spent a lot of time together early in high school & were neighbors for a while in Piedmont. Her sharp wit & easygoing outlook was a joy to be around.

I should have posted something years ago about my dear sweet friend.  Karen and I became friends through our younger sisters when their family moved to Piedmont during the summer between freshman and sophomore year at HHS.

She was such a vivacious person, always happy and upbeat. I think she was determined to be a big personality since she was small in stature.  We had so much fun just being goofy, and very typical teenage girls.  Everyone in the neighborhood seemed to want to be at the Cosby house (with 5 kids what's a couple of dozen more?) and we spent many, many summer nights just hanging out playing yard games or going to the pool.

And she was a loyal friend, always eager to cheer me up or encourage me to go after my dreams. We were roomates at Birmingham-Southern and even remained friends after both of us left and moved back to Huntsville to go to UAH. I still think of her often and wonder sometimes what she would say about particular events or my goings on.

Rest in Peace, my friend.  The "gang" will drink a toast to you at our reunion.
